Frequently Asked Questions
How does ThinkFirst actually block my apps?
ThinkFirst uses Apple's Screen Time and FamilyControls frameworks to shield apps you select. When you try to open a blocked app, Screen Time shows a block screen. From there, ThinkFirst can be used to earn a short unlock window by solving puzzles.
Why do I have to grant Screen Time / device activity permissions?
Without these permissions, ThinkFirst has no way to block or unblock apps. Permissions are requested during onboarding so the app can work correctly. You can change these permissions later in your iOS Screen Time settings.
Do you see which apps I'm using or what I'm doing in them?
ThinkFirst needs to know which apps you've selected to block, but it is not designed to collect the content of what you do in those apps (messages, posts, websites, etc.). For more detail, see the Privacy Policy.
I followed onboarding but nothing seems to be blocked.
Make sure Screen Time is fully enabled in your iOS settings, and that the apps you want to block are selected inside ThinkFirst's "Manage Apps" screen. You may need to restart the device or open the blocked app once for the system changes to take effect.
I unlocked time but my apps are still blocked.
Screen Time changes can sometimes take a few seconds to apply. If you've just finished puzzles and earned time, wait a moment and try opening the app again. If it continues to fail, double‑check Screen Time settings and consider restarting your device.
